MERI/MRRI

As a design intern, I was able to collaboratively take part in the design and development of the brand identity for the Meadowlands Environmental Research Institute, or MERI. Overseen by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA,) MERI is a center of environmental history, research, and innovation. They collect, analyze, create and publish real time data from the Hackensack Meadowlands estuary in order to protect, restore, and preserve the region, provide actionable information to scientists and the public, encourage climate awareness, and empower community advocacy.

The process for developing a brand identity for MERI involved extensive research and a proper understanding of this field. Our team would go on to fully craft an identity for MERI, showcased through designs for websites, merchandise and more.

After our team had completed the brand identity, we passed on our work to the next team of designers. During this time, MERI changed its name to the Meadowlands Research & Restoration Institute to further reflect its values, and this change is reflected on their website. This is now live and translates our design mockups into a fully functional website.
